We finally colored some Easter eggs, the day before Easter, ha.
Not much to post about except we are now searching for a dog that can alert us to seizures. We finally got from Malia's Neurologist that her seizures are pretty much only happening at the point of either right before or right after REM sleep. Which means that she could and very well may be having seizures that we don't know about at night while in bed. I did catch one 2 nights ago that was the WORST one we have ever witnessed in her while checking on her before I went to bed. Now I will have a really hard time sleeping thinking that she could be having a seizure at that very moment. I was told that there was a 1 to 5 year wait for a dog. So I will be looking at getting one on my own and learning how to train it to alert us if need be. I am told that labradoodles make the best ones, but it has to be a dog that has the instinct naturally to sense a seizure. Its something that you cant teach a dog to do.
We used a nursery monitor and placed it at the very end of our daughter's bed. at night time we can even hear when she turns or moves in her bed. I have heard of some families using a nursery camera in their children's rooms. They also make seizure monitor alarm systems for a child's bed to alert you to movement for seizures. We have a hemiplegic child who had 40 seizures per week even with several different medications. She has been seizure free for a little over a year now with a ketogenic diet.
