Happy 6th Birthday

We had a fun filled weekend.  First we went to a surprise birthday party for a relative.  They had a trampoline there, which the girls LOVED.  As I was watching them on it I got to thinking that this could be good physical therapy for both girls.

They had so much fun with Aunt Anna too.

Then came the Birthday party for both girls.  As some of you know the girls are only 7 days apart.  Malia was born on Aug 10th 2005 and Malani was born on Aug. 17th, 2005.
They both wanted to be dressed as a princess.

The makeup kit was a big hit.

Nana made a whoopie pie cake

                                                         Everyone got their faces painted.

The bubbles were a big hit, even with the adults.

We were very lucky to have the sun because it was supposed to be a rainy day.

Malia and her silly faces

If the camera is pointed in her direction she will automatically make a face.  I have about 60 pictures of her like this.  In fact it's getting harder and harder to get a serious look, or a normal smile when she's getting a picture taken.  You will get either the scrunched up face or the most off  beat pose you ever saw.

All about Malani

Have I ever mentioned before that Malani can fall asleep anywhere at anytime. Sometimes you'll look over at her and she is O U T.  I have tons of this type of picture.

She is quite the little fish too.  The bad  thing is, she has NO fear of the water.

She is a VERY happy child.  She is always smiling (Gary calls her smiley) and will belt out the biggest belly laugh you ever heard.

We have been spending a lot of time in the pool lately.  Malani LOVES the water, and has quickly learned to hold her nose and dunk her head.  She is also doing the doggie paddle (almost) enough to keep her head above water.  The only problem is that she keeps that smile pasted to her face and gets a lot of water in her mouth.  We have to keep reminding her to keep her mouth shut.  lol.  She is doing really well though.

Our Weekend

Friday Malia had her pre-op physical. She was to have dental surgery, however I got a phone call Thursday night that her surgery was cancelled and would not be re-scheduled because they stopped accepting our insurance (due to not getting paid for past claims) so instead of cancelling the pre-op appointment the same morning as the appt and having to pay $65.00 because I cancelled too late I just went ahead and took her.

We found a much bigger vollyball court sandbox at the campground to play in.

Its a battle everyday with these two.  If Malani plays with something first she believes its hers and only hers.... forever.  Even if she puts a toy down and moves on to something else she will have a melt down if Malia picks that toy up.  She just does not get the concept of sharing yet, but we are working on it.
 It looks something like this......

At the campground they had a small parade,  everyone in it threw candy at the girls.

Here they are with their loot.

Malia loves to make funny faces when I aim the camera at her.
